My Name is Agent 10, and my mission was to hunt down, capture and interrogate the Arganese Nicaraguan Robusto, by Arganese Cigars. As an asset of The Cigar Spy agency I promise to respect the A.S.H.E.S. code of honor. These are the facts; This is my debriefing.

Target: Arganese Nicaraguan Robusto

Size: Robusto (5 x 50)

Wrapper: Ecuadorian Maduro
Binder: Dominican Ligero
Filler: Dominican Ligero

Background Info:

A maduro cigar to the third power. That is an apt description of the Arganese ML3 Robusto. This robusto is 5 inches long and 50 ring gauge around. Not for the light of heart. The Arganese ML3 is made of very strong tobacco. The Dominican ligero filler and binder are the main contributors to its strength. The Arganese ML3 Robusto is finished in an Ecuadorian maduro wrapper that has prominent veins, is jet black in color, and shines with oil. The Arganese ML3 Robusto was one of the highly regarded cigars at the 2008 IPCPR in Las Vegas. – Tex Cigars

Mission Notes:

This cigar has a black oscuro colored wrapper with good size veins running its length. It has a nice oily sheen and is a bit rough to the touch. After cutting, I found the target had a great draw; free with some resistance and had an earthy pre-light flavor.

The first puffs took me by surprise; stong spice coupled with a generous hit of Vitamin N. This mellow out a bit and the true flavors came through. Coffee and chocolate were the dominant flavors with a creamy spice finish.

Into the second third, a cedar-y note joined the mix and the spice elevated considerably. By this time the cigar was on the lower end of a full body. By the time I hit the last third the coffee and chocolate notes were muted behind the spice and pepper notes. The target was solidly in the full body range. The spice and pepper began to irritate my thoat so I decided to put her down. It was then when I realized how buzzed I was!

Final Statement:

Overall, This was a fantastic cigar! It reminded me alot of the Camacho Triple Maduro! For those of you who like a knock-down humbling cigar, you should try this!!!
