Cigar Transmission #025

My name is Agent 10.  My mission was to review the El Duque Cognac. As an asset of The Cigar Spy agency I promise to respect the A.S.H.E.S. code of honor. These are the facts. This is my debriefing.

Target Name:

El Duque Cognac

Target Vitals:
Size: Double Corona (7.75 x 50)
Wrapper: Sumatra
Binder: Unknown
Filler: Nicaraguan and Dominican.
Age: At least 2 months, 2 days.
Smoking time: 1 hour, 10 minutes.

Background:

I am revisiting this cigar after it was brought up in a discussion with a BOTL recently. Having already smoked one previously, I knew what could be ahead. After finding the balls to stand up to this dog rocket of dog rockets, I timidly sough out the target and interrogated him. It didn’t go well.

Mission Notes:

This target has a mottled Sumatra wrapper, ranging from medium to dark brown. Large veins run down its length. It smells of some what musty alcohol.

Flavors:
Sugar was a dominant character as I believe the alcohol has sweetened the tobacco. No ammonia was tasted, but instead a harsh bitter flavor was noted. Plastic flavors were noticed. This cigar ended bitter and harsh- I had put it down.

Final Statement:

After finishing, I was left with a horrible taste that couldn’t be cut with anything. One of the worst cigars EVER. STAY AWAY!!
