Cigar Transmission #023
My name is Agent 10. My mission was to review the Cigars International Legends: White Label, by Camacho Cigars. As an asset of The Cigar Spy agency I promise to respect the A.S.H.E.S. code of honor. These are the facts. This is my debriefing.
Target Name:
C.I. Legends: White Label Toro
Target Vitals:
Size: Toro – 6 x 50
Wrapper: Habano – Honduras
Binder: Honduran
Filler: Honduran
Background Info:
Very densely packed without any soft spots to speak of, this puro offers a dark, smooth, vein-free Habano wrapper gracing a healthy portion of earthy, grade 1 Honduran long-fillers. Upon lighting, you’ll notice an instant hit of peppery flavor that coats your mouth. Moments later, the tingling is tamed by a toasty flavor with dry hints of nuts. In true Camacho form, you notice a slight rush, as the powerful blend takes over. But fear not! The strength subsides, developing beautifully into a mellow, well-rounded smoke with slight hints of vanilla until it peaks at the 2/3 point, the blue-gray smoke feeling almost silky in the mouth. Gradually, just as you’d begin to contemplate nubbing it out, the peppery notes return, building to a crescendo – offering a robust and heady finish to this extraordinarily flavorful cigar. – Cigars International
Mission Notes:
This cigar had a nice lighter colored wrapper, almost free of blemishes save for a large vein located right under the cap. This made the “mouth feel” of the cigar slightly uncomfortable when you convieniently placed the vein sercurely between your two front teeth. Otherwise, the draw was great, and the cigar was packed from head to foot.
First of all, the burn on this cigar is very wavy. It kind of reminded me of a sine wave… (Nerd!) The other problem was the ash- it was flakier than my Kellog’s Special K! It was impossible to go 1/4 inch without having to dust off the end of your cigar. The body remained secureley in the mild-medium range, not at all powerful like C.I. advertises.
Flavor wise, I tasted a strong wood flavor throughout the stick, which only became more interesting at the end of the first third when some sweet caramel flavors joined the mix. These were the only flavors I detected. Towards the last third the cigar became harsh.
Final Statement:
Overall, this cigar was uninteresting. The flavors had no dramatic changes and ended with harsh flavors. Would I mind smoking it again? No, it’s not the worst thing I have smoked. Would I ever buy it again? No. There are many other smokes out there that are better. Would I recomend this cigar? Possibly to new smokers looking to have good examples of flavor (i.e. wood) otherwise, no.
Thanks for tuning in! Be back next week with another cigar review!
Wishing you Clean Cuts and Thick Smoke,
-10
