This cigar came as a freebie deal with the purchase of a box of Padilla Hybrids from CigarsInternational.com. I enjoy receiving free stuff, especially stuff that you can light on fire and stick in your mouth. That’s what she said.

Construction:

Silky, thick, and an oily Maduro wrapper. Definitely can see the reason for the Obsidian code name. Solid cigar to hold in your hand. Somewhat difficult draw, similar to getting a cookie chunk in a Cookies & Cream milkshake stuck in your straw. Perhaps even similar to sucking on your thumb until it turns all pruny. Hey, speaking of pruny…

Flavors:

Pre-light flavors: Prunes and earthiness.

Post-light: “Sweet” Maduro. Rich natural tobacco with some hints of pepper and spice. Earthy sometimes.

Smoke:

This particular cigar put off incredible amounts of smoke. Imagine yelling, “Ninja Vanish!” and then smoking this cigar and disappearing behind the thick white cloud of smoke, only to be betrayed by the ridiculous smacking sound of your ninja flip-flops as you run away. That, and the excruciating pain from your ingrown ninja toenails.

Final Briefing:

This cigar does not make my Most Wanted list. If under duress and a villain crams this in your mouth and lights it, you’ll be fine. Also, seeing as it carries the name “Obsidian”, you can just tell your friends you were forced to smoke lava. That sounds badass.
