Agent 10 Mission Log- Transmission #001

Target: Fire by India Tabac Toro

Size: 6 x 50

Shape: Toro

Wrapper: Costa Rica

Filler: Honduran, Nicarauguan

Binder: Nicaragua

Prelight:

The wrapper on the target has a dark chocolate color, with a medium vein running the length of the cigar. The wrapper is slightly mottled, giving it a rougher look. No obvious flaws to be seen. The cigar is firm with a slight spongy feel; 1-2 soft spots were found in the middle of the cigar and toward the cap. The wrapper and foot smell of dried fruit resembling prunes or apricots. After using a guillotine cut, I found that the draw was perfect; free with a bit of resistance. The cold-taste was that of dried fruit and corojo tobacco.

Smoking Experience:

After lighting, I immediately began to taste a light corojo flavor, which became more pronounced as I continued. A woody flavor came into the picture about a ½ an inch in and remained there for the remainder of the cigar. The target rounded out to a medium body, with a light corojo flavored finish. Nutty, coffee and “prune like” flavors drifted in and out throughout the cigar. Pretty good so far. It was then that the target did what every agent hates; the turn. Half way into the 2nd third, the target took on some ammonia flavors, and became bitter. I started to develop an irritation in the back of my throat. The bitterness mounted and the irritation grew intolerable. I was forced to abort my mission.

Recommendation: Unless aged, I recommend avoiding this target.

    Agent 10, welcome aboard!

I had one of these a long time ago in the Lancero size. The construction and performance was awesome, but the flavors were lacking for me for that particular cigar. Great review!
